Is It Normal to Have a Hazy Vision After LASIK?

Many people misunderstood something about the LASIK procedure. LASIK is a known surgery that provides you a better vision. Do not expect your vision to be perfect as soon as you rise from the bed. That vision does not come in one snap, it takes time and adjustment for it to be clear. Do not believe in the idea of getting an immediate crystal-clear vision.

The vision that you have allows you to see across the room better than you usually do mostly when your prescription is -3.00 or higher. People who had LASIK shared their experiences. Most people wake up with a blurry vision and the best part of it is you will go to bed with a clear vision which makes it a magnificent and unbelievable moment.

Every person who had LASIK mentioned that they have a hazy vision when they sit up after the procedure. Many people will not remember that part because some patients focused on the feeling of being able to see perfectly. You should not panic when your vision is hazy and blurry after surgery because it is an aftermath of LASIK surgery.

What Is the Reason Behind Hazy Vision After LASIK?

During a LASIK procedure, saline is used to make everything clean and clear but it affects the clear part of your eye. The cornea gets water-logged which is the reason behind the hazy vision. Artificial tears are applied after the procedure which also contributes to the hazy vision.

Do not be frustrated when you experience blurry eyesight because it will improve within 24 hours. It is normal to experience intermittent blurriness and fluctuations in vision because your eyes are still adjusting to the reshaped cornea. It may take three to six months for the full recovery of your eyes which means you may still experience minor side effects.

When Will My Vision Become Clear After LASIK?

Watch it for the next six hours because the water will be naturally removed from your cornea. The normal artificial tears replace the viscous artificial tears and then own natural tear film which increases the clarity.

Listen to the instructions of your ophthalmologist about the procedure, post-operative treatments, and steps you need to follow to speed up the healing process. Make sure that you follow the recommended things to do and avoid things that may harm your eyes.
